There are many versions of how humans came to be. It’s easy to pick up any one of the millions of writings that have been made since the beginning of time from various cultures around the world to learn their version of how man first was born. None of them are necessarily right just as none are necessarily wrong.
The debate over this has been going on since man was first able to record his thoughts and ever since, there has been immense progress, but also devastating loss. Despite the extreme power of mother nature and disease that can wipe out whole civilizations, man has continued to strive even when all hope was seemingly lost, always finding a way to uplift themselves and build again. The frailty of humans was never enough to stop their kind from a resilience unlike any the other species had seen before in their long and immortal lives.
Many humans find comfort in thinking they are the dominant species on the planet. They know for sure there are no such things as supernaturals walking among them and those stories are left as bedtime tales, legends, and myths. However, there are some of mankind who know all too well of the existence of the other species. Their encounters with these
others range from friendly to frightening and absolutely everything in between.
Still, for all the hardships they’ve endured and have even brought upon themselves, humans persevere and come together when things are at their absolute worst. Though it is difficult and impossible for many of the supernaturals to accept, humans are needed for the world to continue on and also for their very own survival. Without humans, life itself in all forms, would truly cease to exist.

GREATER IN NUMBER
Humans are undoubtedly the weakest among all species, however, they have fought back against the supernaturals that have tried to bring them harm by banning together since they vastly outnumber all of the other species. Much of their old folklore is based on truth such as the wars against the sanguine and fae.
WEAKNESSES
MORTAL
Humans live normal life spans and are susceptible to disease and mortal wounds.
APPEARANCE
Most other supernatural species look exactly as they do, so it’s harder for them to know with whom they keep their company and could make easy prey.
VULNERABILITY
Humans are susceptible to supernaturals’ abilities and have little defense against most of them.

Humans are one of the only species that appear their actual age.
RESILIENT
Despite the many diseases, natural disasters, wars, etc. that they have faced, humans have continued their survival for thousands of years.
EMOTIONAL
Humans are more emotional than many of the other species because they are mortal and thus react in the now.
UNAWARE
Most humans are unaware of the supernatural world and the other species wish to keep it that way for the most part, however, there are many that do know about the supernatural and all have their own feelings about them. As always, most humans fear what they do not understand.
