Acceptance. Fate. No matter the future, the world spun on. Tonight the air hung thick in the balance and the stress weighed heavy on many shoulders, thus the overcrowding of the tavern. Many chose to hang their hat there, rooms aplenty upstairs for those who needed it, otherwise they took their drunk selves back home within a walking distance. The liquor ran wild and the blood ran high, excitement abound for those who wanted to start trouble even though half the customers wanted a simple drink in piece. Alone, in a dark corner.

None of it mattered to Honora. Up until recently, she hated crowded places. The only comfort she found was around her husband and the mercenaries her brother built a team of many moons ago. Time passed so quickly she could hardly remember the day she had been kidnapped, taken by the Sanguine and turned into a blood bag for their own self pleasure. She still felt the pain of those sharp teeth cutting flesh and sinking into her neck, a reminder every time she rubbed that sweaty palm of hers over the surface. As she did now.

The corner of the tavern became her solace as those eyes drifted from the top of her mug, lingering on the men who looked antsy and out of place at the bar. The hunger settled in her stomach, reminding her just how thirsty she was outside of the beer that sat on the tip of her tongue and swirled in her wooden mug. She watched, digging fingertips into the side of the mug as it snapped just a pinch under her grip. Soon enough the fight broke out, one of the men slamming back into her table after moving quickly across the middle of the room. The mug cracked and shattered against the wall from the force yet did nothing to shock the blonde. Both hands gripped the man's shoulders tightly before shoving him off as she followed. The fight spread through the tavern like wildfire, and yet time stood still for Honora.

She smelled him. Her heart skipped, her eyes wandered, and through the haze of men and women, landed on him. It came as no surprise that he was alive and well, and yet something changed. Whether it was her or him, she could place a bet that it was her and she would have won. That hunger dissipated immediately as anxiety and tension grew in her chest. The distance grew between them before she could even move in his direction as she felt a hand around her bodice, yanking her into the fray and causing her to land on her back with a thud. She had been caught of guard for a moment, which was entirely unlike her. Every ability went to the wayside if only for a few seconds. He was there.

✧ Thief of Memories✧
A year or more had passed now since Honora and their children had been taken? No sense of finding them had come into his view since he started his endeavor to burn the world to the ground to find them or whoever took them. Some days where utter blurs as he would go into these blind drunken rage hunts. Following his nose trying to find any trace of her, that night he found a shred of her scent. He followed it, to a town he had yet to check. Moving towards the down he shifted and pulled on his clothes as he stumbled closer to the tavern.

As Ezekiel went to enter the tavern he was stopped and shoved backwards being told to get lost. “Let me in.” he said, already drunk off his ass. “She is here.” His eyes searched for that blonde hair he loved. As a shove came to his chest again he didn’t move other then pushed the man back into the tavern causing a full on brawl as he pushed and shoved people out of his way. Picking up a fork one time to stab it into the closest man beside him. “Fuck you.” He said as he growled fighting his way through the crowd.

Her scent wasn’t the same as it was before but it was her. It had to be. Blonde. He saw it from his view over the bodies that slapped together and punches thrown. Catching one hand just before it hit his face he pushed the man aside and moved closer to her. The hunger to make sure it was her gnawed inside of his chest. As she was in his view she was gone. “Fuckers.” He growled as he crushed whatever hand landed against his face. Snapping his teeth like the wild animal he used to be before her. Ripping into the humans tossing them, not caring for the sounds of their skulls cracking against the floorboards. He needed to get to her.

“Honora!” he called out towards her trying to find her in the fray of men that were slapping themselves together in a fruitless fight. One he started all by accident just to find her. He was drunk, he could be wrong, it may not be her. But the scent. He reached out towards the blonde on the floor pulling her to her feet. “Honora?” he asked through fuzzy eyes realizing only then that he was crying. “Honor.” he said as his hand came to cup her face. “Is it really you? Have I finally after all this time found you?”

A fury of emotions washed over Honora as the fight seemed distant despite her collapse to the floor, no thanks to the drunkards causing destruction. Although she would have welcomed the fight, his scent pulled that haste from her. The sound of his voice was almost euphoric after all this time, sending a wave of comfort and relief through her. Yet, it felt foreign. Almost as if it didn't belong to her but another life, another time. Another place. The scuffling, the grunting and groaning, still commenced despite the reunion that should have been more private. Those things never happened in times like these.

The grip of his hand brought her to her feet and once more time stood still. Her eyes wavered as they searched his, almost in a dream like state despite the men and women who tried to make the moment impossible. The day the camp was torn apart so too was her heart, her hope, her desire to continue on without her brother and husband. Now, after a year, he stood in front of her like a dream come true. "Zeke.." She whispered in a haze. "You're here.." Those fingertips gripped the fabric of his clothing, no matter how thick, she could hear his heart beating as it sent a chill down her spine. She was no longer a human, no longer a figure with a true beating heart.

Their moment would soon be interrupted from a solid figure shoving her from behind, causing both of her arms to wrap firmly around his waist in hopes of moving them swiftly out of the way and against the wall of the establishment. It was much quieter there, out of the fray. It only took her a few seconds to take a calm breath, returning her attention to the only important thing.. Ezekiel. "You're alive, you're okay.." She said, that compassion returning although not in the normal state it had been before the attack. "I was hoping you would find me sooner." The confession fell from her lips before she could add an explanation, causing her eyebrows to furrow.

"Quin.. is he alive?" She inquired, yet her hands never left him. One slid up his side, fingertips gliding along his jawline before dipping to press against his chest. Anything to feel his heartbeat, to truly know that the sound she heard was real. He wasn't a ghost, nor was he a dead person haunting her.

Those eyes of woven green to light to resemble grass, it was closer to the green of stained glass filled with sunshine. He found himself searching her eyes for answers to questions he had waited so long to ask. Even with the fist flying around them it felt like the world was falling away. He had spent every wink of sleep he got dreaming of this moment. Of when they would be reconnected. “Honor.” He managed to get out with a stupid nod of his head. He had imagined he would sweep her up into his arms. Yet there was something about her scent that had changed causing his nose to twitch back into reality.

As the form pushed her into him he moved to growl but he was no longer standing there. She moved them faster than he knew possible. Questions crossed his face as he looked down towards. Her embrace is stronger than when she was human. It was as the second passed it dawned on him what had happened, they turned her. She was a Sanguine now, it was the scent of blood carried along her. Blinking he gave a gentle smile towards him. “I should be the one saying those words. I was beginning to fear I would never find you. Though the world would have burned with my last dying breath if that had been the case.”

He frowned though with a heavy heart he hung his head to lean against hers, “I wish I had found you sooner also, I feel I have failed at my duty to protect you.” He felt the wave of shame over him as he closed his eyes for a brief moment. Q the other most important person in his life and her brother, of course that would be the next concern. “Yes he is alive, in a city talking with a watchman about a job. I caught your scent and followed it even though I should be getting there about now to meet him.” He admitted.

As her fingers touched his jaw he almost fell to his feet because of how surreal all of this felt. His heart was beating so fast that if he were anyone else it would have stopped at the shear force of its pounding. He took a shaking hand to cup her face between his large hands to tilt her head so his lips could meet hers, to feeling that fire their kiss once held to know it was truly her. No matter in what form he would always love her, even if she needed blood to survive now.
